Annual Culture of Safety Survey
The 2015 Culture of Safety Survey period runs May 1-30. You will receive an email with a link to the survey, which should take 10-15 minutes to complete. For those without email access, paper copies of the survey will be available through your unit-based Safety Coach or department leader.
It is important to answer as honestly as possible so we can identify areas of strength, as well as opportunities for improvement. Please note that your individual survey responses are confidential and will remain anonymous. Everything we do at Lee Memorial Health System must focus on keeping our patients safe and helping them heal; and our goal is to assure no patient is ever harmed. Remember, patient safety begins with you and me and ends in zero!

• Thank you, Child Development Center Staff and Teachers! Teacher/Provider Appreciation Day is a special day to recognize child care workers and is celebrated every year on the Friday before Mother’s Day. Our child care professionals are the world’s unsung heroes. Research shows that early childhood is the most critical development period in a child’s life. Thank you to all of the Child Development Staff for teaching and nurturing our young children while other Lee Memorial Health System staff is taking care of our patients.
• Congratulations to 3 West for contributing to the stroke program by discharging patients with stroke information, calling “Stroke Alert” if a patient was having a possible stroke during their admission. 75+ pewter “brain” pins were also contributed staff who achieved NIH Stroke Certification.

I just wanted to write each of you a note to tell you of an experience I just had personally here at Cape Coral Hospital. I was recently admitted to this hospital with chest pain. I just want you to know, that I could personally see that our hospital has done remarkable things to improve on patient satisfaction. From the moment I walked into the ER, my Dr had called ahead to say she was sending me here for treatment it was truly the best experience I could ask for as a patient. I am obviously an employee here and really not fond of being a patient myself lol, who is I guess but I could not have asked for a better experience. Starting with the first ER technician, my amazing ER physician, and the awesome nurse I had as well. I was transferred to 2W in a timely manner, which I was very surprised because I know we have been so very busy. I work in medical records so I know how busy we have been. Once I got to my room I was greeted by a nurse who was very attentive and genuinely concerned for my well-being. I could seriously go on and on. To my awesome Dr. from the hospitalist group, to my cardiologist and my surgeon, just EVERYTHING was so amazing. Thank goodness after a six day stay in the hospital I ended up need gallbladder surgery. I am feeling good and back to work after being out for about two weeks I didn’t want to wait for a survey, and I felt that as an employee here I should let you both know of my experience. I would recommend our fine hospital to anyone I know. Thanks for everything you have done yourselves in making such positive changes to our amazing hospital. I can’t forget to mention transport and the dietary department s well; EVERYTHING and EVERYONE were just wonderful! Thank you for sharing your story with us CM.
